Rivendell Chinchillas |
|
My name is Nicole, often known on the forums as Riven. I got my first chin in 1995 from an exotic animal auction. She was a beige female that I named Sabrina. Unfortunatley due to less than adequate education, leading to poor care, Sabrina passed before three years of age. Always missing her and wanting another, I eventually got another chin who also meet an ill fate due to an accident of human error. After that my husband wanted to find me another chin to replace Cinder, and ended up finding a breeding colony, which started my journey into breeding. After aquiring nearly 12 chins, I finally started looking online and found a mentor. Rehomed most of the orginal chins to pet homes and began purchasing quality chins and attending shows. Ever since then I've been learning, and enjoy helping with education and sharing chin-stories with other chin owners and breeders. I am an active member of ECBC and attend shows to work on quality improvement for my herd. I am married and the mother of two wonderful girls who enjoy a love of animals as well. I am currently going to school for nursing. And have my degree in drafting. We live on a small acreage and enjoy animals of all kinds. We have horses, poultry, cats, dogs, and often a few other critters. We currently have an alpaca living with the horses and two rats that have recently joined our home.
