Smidge's Digs!
First met Smidgen! She is our resident mini chinnie!
She is currently running about 386 grams she is full grown!
Smidge has two flat mates who will be joining her soon, they are also mini chinnies!
Well as many know I've been rejected by some to get a cage mate for my little chin Smidgen, but that has not stopped my quest! Currently we have TWO new friends planning to come live with Smidgen in her "mini digs"!
So what kind of home would get rejected? You'll get to find out, and at the same time get a question answered... what would I do if I decked out a chin cage!
I've been asked this more time than you can shake a stick at, what would you do, you have everything, what would you do! So in an on-going effort to promote more "abusive homes" like mine I'm going to show some progressive photos as we go!

The cage I chose for Smidge's digs is actually a bird cage.
This cage runs about $120 shipped, not a bad price. Check e-bay if you like it! The cage itself runs about $20, shipping is about $90 anywhere in the US.

It even comes with a stand! Although it is much larger in life... I'm going to have to do some re-arranging in my office.
For now we will leave the top off. You'll notice this cage offers two large doors on the front, and a slide out pan. Although I'm not fond of the wire bottom we will offer reprieve from it with some marble tiles, and it will be set up so they can spend most of their time else where!
Another thing I like about this cage is it's strong structure, but ease of assembly. It would be easy to disassemble and move, or rearrange.
Every cage needs a plan so I better get to work on that! When planning a cage you want to think about the most important things for the chin, shelves, housing, and of course food and water. A special consideration of this cage is that the chins are mini chinnies! They will need closer spacing for shelves to accommodate their smaller bodies and short gates!
